Athletics
The University of Wisconsin-Barron County is dedicated to providing
students with a variety of exciting athletic opportunities - both competitive
(varsity) and recreational. Make sports a part of your educational experience!
Varsity Athletics
Welcome to the home of the UW-BC Chargers!
If you’re interested in intercollegiate competition, UW-Barron
County has several varsity sports that will enable you to compete with
students at other campuses throughout the state. You don’t need
to be a sports superstar; you do need to love the sport, enjoy competition,
and be willing to give it your best effort.
The “Chargers” are a member of the Wisconsin Collegiate
Conference (WCC) which is comprised of the thirteen UW Colleges campuses,
and the Wisconsin Junior College Athletic Association (WJCAA). In addition to
competition in the WCC, the Chargers compete in many non-conference
events.
We are very proud of the
honors and awards that our Charger athletes have received for
their excellence in play.
As a member of the WCC, UW-BC is subject to the rules and
regulations contained in the Handbook of the Wisconsin Collegiate
Conference. The
UW-Barron County Guide for Student Athletes
is a partial list of regulations covering the rules that most directly
pertain to Charger athletes.

Recreational Athletics
If intercollegiate competition isn’t what you’re looking
for, UW-Barron County also offers intramural and recreational activities
for students who would like to participate and have a great time--without
the heated competition.
