Charger Sports
Club Baseball
Baseball is offered at UW-BC as a club sport. This
means that an independent schedule is played with no conference
affiliation. Practices start in March and games are played in April and
May. In 1997, the team was opened up to include student athletes from
WITC (Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College).

Coach Brad Randle was awarded
the
2005 Outstanding Service Award
for classified staff.
The Coach
Brad Randle, will start his 13th season as Charger
baseball coach in spring 2007. Besides coaching baseball in the spring,
he works full-time on the UW-BC maintenance staff as well as being union
steward on campus. Coach Randle
believes that his 2004 team was the best in school history, ending the
season with a 9-2 record and .818 winning percentage.
His love of baseball was born and nurtured as a boy
growing up on the south side of Chicago. Besides playing baseball, he
has participated in basketball, football, track, and fast and slow pitch
softball.
His coaching career began after moving to Wisconsin
in 1971. He has coached teams in baseball from T-ball to American
Legion and now on the collegiate level. Not restricted to baseball, he
has also coached basketball, softball, and hockey. In the summer, Brad
helps out the youth programs in Rice Lake by umpiring Little League
through American Legion levels. In softball (fast pitch and slow pitch)
Brad has coached teams that have won state and national titles.
Brad is the proud father of two children. His
son Erik is attending UW-Stout majoring in Industrial Design. His
daughter Sara is attending UW-Eau Claire and is majoring in
Environmental Science.
