SGA Elections

Elections were recently held to fill the officer and sophomore senator positions for the 2008-2009 Student Government Association (SGA) at the University of Wisconsin-Barron County.

All officers and senators serving on the UW-BC SGA are students who are elected by the student body. SGA actively promotes students’ interests, organizes student activities and community forums, and manages student funds.

Newly elected officers for the upcoming academic year are President Justin Haller of Barron, Vice-President Tiffany Lauersdorf of Rice Lake, Secretary Louis DeVries IV of Birchwood, and Treasurer Christina Lehrke of Rice Lake.

The new sophomore senators are Amy Chappell of Rice Lake, Gus Millevolte of Rice Lake, and Nichole Oswald of Chetek.

Elections will be held in the fall to elect four new freshman senators.

The UW-BC SGA is also a member of the Shared Governance Council, the voice of all students at the 13 UW Colleges campuses. SGC conducts meetings and leadership workshops throughout the year. This affords the UW-BC reps the opportunity to travel around the state, meet other students involved in governance, and vote on issues affecting UW Colleges students.
