The May roster of short courses being offered at the University of Wisconsin-Barron County includes programs for the outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers, and writers.

“Planning & Planting: Medicinal Herb Garden” is a one session class that will meet on Monday, May 5 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Student Center. Master Herbalist Gigi Stafne will engage participants in a lively discussion and hands-on workshop to facilitate designing the dream herb garden this spring season. Course fee is $25.00.

A one session “Introductory Kayak” clinic will be held on Tuesday, June 3 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Veterans Park on Orchard Beach Lane.

The three day “Seeing the Unseen; Discovering Hidden Worlds” seminar will combine the art of scientific discovery with creative writing. The seminar will be held Monday-Wednesday, June 9-11 from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. in Ritzinger Hall and on the campus grounds.

The one session “Plants & Paddling” program will meet on Friday, June 27 from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. on Lower long Lake in the New Auburn area.
