Friends of the University
Community partners help UW-Barron County move toward new levels of
excellence through contributions to the UW-Barron County Foundation to
create opportunities not otherwise possible.
In the past year, through the Foundation, students received
scholarships, learned about the campus, attended class in facilities
with updated equipment and technology, and celebrated commencement.
Cultural and educational events for K-12 students provided stimulating
exchange on campus and through distance learning; students and
instructors benefited from support of teaching and learning projects,
course development, and professional enhancement opportunities.
UW-Barron County Foundation's board of directors and volunteers include
alumni, friends, community leaders along with UW-BC faculty and staff.
Founded in 1966, this non-profit corporation plays an increasingly
important role in helping the campus fulfill its educational mission.
Though UW-Barron County receives assistance from the State of Wisconsin
and Barron County, it relies on the generosity of supporters to
supplement shrinking public resources. Learn more about our UW-BC

Mission and Vision
The University of Wisconsin-Barron County Foundation provides
financial resources for programs and activities that enhance and promote
education at UW-Barron County. Contributors to the Foundation
believe that an investment in UW-BC is an investment in the future of
our communities. Primary ways the Foundation supports this goal
include:
Scholarships

individuals, businesses, civic organizations and UW-BC faculty and staff
who believe an investment in education of our students today is a
long-term investment in our communities. Learn more about the

Equipment
As technology advances, classroom instructional tools must keep pace to
provide students with appropriate tools to succeed. Funds to
purchase instructional equipment directly benefit students in the
classroom.
Faculty Professional Development
Engaging students in the teaching and learning process and providing the
best education possible is the goal of UW-Barron County faculty.
Professional development funds ensure that faculty are accessing state
of the art methods and learning and enriching their own teaching and
learning skills to benefit students and the campus.
Cultural and Educational Events and Activities
Foundation sponsorships and assistance help energize the campus as a
creative hub celebrating the arts, music, cultural heritage, and theatre
for the region. Art exhibits, musical events, theatrical
productions, forums, and guest speakers are among events and activities.
