¡Vámonos! Join us on a journey through the land of the Aztecs to the home of the Maya -- from the cool central plateau of Mexico to its warm and lush green forests. This journey will introduce you to Tenochtitlan (Mexico City), the capital of the Aztecs; Teotihuacan; Cholula, the city with the world’s largest pyramid, and Oaxaca the frontier of the Maya.
The trip includes:
Air Transportation to and from Mexico. Flight will depart from Minneapolis, MN
Ground transportation in Mexico to and from the airport
Orientation session in Mexico
Lodging - breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday
Transportation and entrance fees for 4 local visits
Transportation and hotel accommodations for 2 weekend trips
Instruction from Dr. Jayant Anand, Assistant Professor of Anthropology UW-Barron County
During this three week voyage, you will receive knowledge about the peoples and cultures of Mexico from Dr. Jayant Anand, a cultural anthropologist with fieldwork experience in Mexico. We invite you to get to know your neighbors! Participants can earn 3 credits in Anthropology (Social Science).

Experience the Boundary Waters of Minnesota with outdoor guide Jan Bliss. This trip is designed for participants to gain an appreciation of the Boundary Waters through canoeing, camping, and living in a wilderness setting. Group members will meet for three planning classes prior to the trip in June. Your guide of the trip is experience outdoors woman Jan Bliss. Jan has guided numerous trips into the Boundary Waters of Minnesota and Canada and the Canadian Arctic. This trip is open to women of any skill level. Class size is very limited. Fee includes guide, 3 pre-trip courses, gear rental, and food.
We have seven exciting short-term study abroad trips for the 2009-2010 academic year. Participants may sign up for credit or non-credit options. Space is limited and registration deadlines for most trips are more than three months prior to travel. Trips fill up quickly so inquire early to secure your place!
