UW-Barron County offers four professional development certificate programs open to adult learners.

Business Communication
Certificate of Completion - Online

Learn valuable people skills in instructor-led courses that focus on leadership, managing conflict, teamwork, problem solving, and decision making. Courses run for six weeks. You may take them individually or together as a non-credit certificate. View descriptions and courses..

Managing Telecommuters - Online

Did you know that telecommuter are 25% more productive than people who work in an office? Having your employees telecommute can mean a more profitable business. But how do you manage people working from home? Come discover the keys to making telecommuting a success for you and your organization. You may take all three courses for the certificate or take courses individually.

Pharmacy Technician
Certification Program

This non-credit, comprehensive 50 hour course will prepare you to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam. Technicians work in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, community pharmacies and other health care settings – working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Course content includes medical terminology specific to the pharmacy, reading and interpreting prescriptions and defining drugs by generic and brand names. You will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control and billing and reimbursement.
