Associate of Arts & Science Degree

The Associate of Arts and Science degree is a foundation for many majors in the UW System and is generally accepted by University of Wisconsin institutions as fulfilling the university-wide, general education breadth requirements.  The degree may not fulfill certain proficiency, major and/or program-specific requirements.  Your UW-BC academic advisor can explain how to include program pre-requisites (such as courses required for entrance into degree programs in education, business, social work, etc.) into the associate degree, so that you're making progress toward your specific major and degree requirements.

UW-BC/WITC AAS Transfer Degree Option

The University of Wisconsin Colleges Associate of Arts and Science (AAS) degree will now be offered at all WITC campuses beginning January 2006.  This alliance sets a model partnership into motion, opening up a new opportunity for residents of NW Wisconsin to start a two-year UW AAS degree at the WITC campuses in New Richmond, Superior, Ashland, Ladysmith, Hayward, and Rice Lake.  The common purpose is to expand higher education options for students in the most rural and remote regions of the state who previously had to commute as much as 120 miles one-way to attend classes at UW-BC in Rice Lake.  The ultimate goal is to increase the number of bachelor’s degree holders in the state - a major goal of the governor and legislature.  Here's more information on the UW-BC/WITC AAS Transfer Degree option.
